San Jacinto Ordnance Depot has been forgotten over time. Originally built to store ordnance (weapons and ammunition) during World War II just outside of Houston, Texas, several of the buildings now look like they were victim of the what they once protected. This photo was taken towards the beginning of one of Texas’ most severe droughts, evidenced by the cracked earth. Many refineries and petrochemical storage facilities have cropped up around the area where the depot resides … probably not the best place to store explosives.
